Hey Safeway – clearly you don't pay attention to any other criticism when it comes to your customer service, so let me put it this way. You are losing a lot of money!
The gentleman unpacking food in the diary isle was so nice & very helpful. He asked what it was I was looking for and helped me get in and out of Safeway because sometimes I'm in such a hurry I can overlook things. I love this safeway! I hope to see him again!
For the quality of customer service and shopping convenience, they charge way too much for their products. Almost anywhere else is cheaper. There are long lines, customers have to check themselves out unless the couple cashiers are around, and the few cashiers are not at all friendly or knowledgeable.
Maybe that will get your attention. I've finally had it. I have lived here for almost 4 years and I've shopped at your grocery store. Every time I come, I say that this is the last time I'm coming here. I have switched to other grocery stores, however, as time passes, I forget and end up back at Safeway ONLY due to proximity. Maybe it's because I think there's no way it's as bad as it was before. But, yes it has been this bad for four years. I actually think it's getting worse. Not only are all customers forced to use self check out in long lines that run up the food rows, if you do you get the ONE cashier available, they are more frustrated than you about the way the store is managed and are either annoyed or slow because there's no positive management throughout the store. Also, I can never count on things being stocked properly. Prepared foods are prepared on Safeways time not the customers time and more times than I can count they've been out of bags to even put your produce in. This isn't just me, this is known throughout the community, as it is a joke for many of my neighbors and friends. Imagine the money and opportunity you'd have if you could just get it together....
Long Lines
It always takes forever to checkout because there’s only ever one cashier working and lines down the aisles. I’ve started going to the Safeway in Annapolis near Best Buy. The extra minutes in the car are worth the lack of frustration checking out at the Edgewater store. Heck the drive to Annapolis, shopping and drive back from Annapolis is still shorter than attempting to shop and check out at this Safeway.
Just plain poor management. Two times now I have been disgusted with this store, the first time I called the Safeway 800# and that was a waste of time. I think the people that work there do the best they can but they don't seem happy either. They are so busy they have no patience to help you out to look for anything. I was looking for something for over an hour and there was nobody in the store to ask. Finally at the register after I checked out they called somebody and stated they don't carry it anymore. Just don't expect any help in this store. The Giant does a much better job, so that really leaves us with one grocery store.
